Welcome to The Surfer’s Mistress. We are a small casual Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. Have fun, relax and let us take care of you. All our pasta and pizza bases are made fresh each day in our kitchen. We apologize in advance if some of the food on our menu may not be available at all times. Gluten free pasta is also available at an extra charge. Please inform us if you have any allergies.
FOCACCIA / Our daily home made Focaccia bread served with our TSM green salsa $9. Add olives $4
ARANCINI / Two Risotto balls with saffron & mozzarella cheese served on sautéed mushrooms. Our most popular starter. (v) $16
BRUSCHETTA / Tomato fillets, basil, and garlic. (v) $12
CAPRESE SALAD / Buffalo mozzarella, Heirloom tomatoes, basil & extra virgin olive oil. The quintessential Italian salad. (v) $18
CHEESE ON POLENTA / Melted imported Italian gorgonzola cheese (blue cheese) over grilled polenta. (v) $14
PARMA HAM / Italian Parma ham wrapped around slices of melon $16
POLPETTE / Venice meatballs. Deep fried and served with the TSM green salsa. We asked for this recipe when we discovered them in a Venice Bacaro after joining a queue that forms each evening for these meatballs. We love them! $14
ANTIPASTO PLATTER / Selection of various cheeses and cured meats, olives, dried fruit, nuts, pickles, homemade chutney, crackers and focaccia bread. For 2 $36 or 4 $48.
PIZZA/ Our pizza dough is made each day using Italian flour from Naples.

RAGU’ ALLA BOLOGNESE / Fettuccine pasta with a beef & pork sauce. Our recipe is from Bologna, Italy. Light and delicate. $24
PUTTANESCA / Bucatini pasta, tomato, olives, anchovies, capers, garlic, chilli. Rich and salty. Cooked Al dente. (v) $23
CARNE (STEAK)/POLLO (CHICKEN)/ PESCE (FISH)
TAGLIATA/Sliced Scotch fillet steak 250g, rocket and parmesan. A simple dish for steak lovers. Served with an Italian salsa. $30
POLLO / Piccata al limone – Pan fried chicken with a white wine, lemon and parsley sauce served on grilled polenta. $28
PESCE / Pan fried Fish of the day with polenta and a caper and olive tapenade $30
Pollo and Pesce are served with our vegetable of the day.
GELATO / Vanilla, Strawberry or Pistacchio. $6
AFFOGATO / Kapiti Vanilla Ice Cream with a shot of Dark Horse espresso. $12.
PANNA COTTA / Our favourite. Not too sweet. Served with fresh strawberry and crumbs. $12
SGROPPINO / An Italian dessert cocktail from Venice. Lemon sorbet, Vodka and Prosecco. Blended and served in a flute. $15
ESPRESSO MARTINI / Kapiti Coast Vodka, Kahlua and dark horse espresso $15
PINEAPPLE / Freshly cut pineapple served with a shot of Maraschino liqueur. The favourite choice for well-heeled Milanese locals $14
TIRAMISU’ / The classic Italian dessert. Made with Amore and Espresso liqueur! $12
